Lupe's Tortilla
I only have this every so often, and only on Sunday. Man is it ever so good and spicy I needed this to make it all better.

Mushroom Tortellini
Mushroom Tortellini in a red tomato and roasted garlic sauce (had that in the fridge), with snap peas, sweet peas, a little baby carrots and turkey meatballs-I know, I know, but I make them tasty! Parmesan. And my chiffonade (I like that word) of basil. I am a sucker for basil.

Galveston Sculptures
When Ike hit Galveston Island, parts of it were under over 5 feet of water. Many old growth trees were knocked down. A lot of people just chopped it down to a stump...
But, a group of residents decided this was not what they were going to do. One lady, who has spent a lifetime visiting and collecting in asia lost all her possessions on the ground floor of her home. She came up with the idea of getting artists to come in and create works of art from of stumps. Her first one was this sculpture of a geisha.
The people we met were so kind and helpful. One got in her car to point the Galveston Historical Foundation to us. We are not using names because we feel we need to obtain permission. She came out with an updated list of locations where things were. I am planning on visiting Galveston again and again to get it all documented.
PS: The homeowners who had just lost so much and would spend the next year repairing their homes paid for the works themselves. There are 35 locations currently listed.
PPS: We arrived in Galveston on March 11th, 2011, they day of the earthquake and tsunami hitting Japan.

Minestrone Friday
Minestrone soup made today in a crock pot. Bread has a base of sun-dried tomato paste with soft mozzarella melted on top. A chiffonade of basil, and spices made of italian seasoning, mexican oregano, chile flakes and smoked salt. This rocked.

Dinner Thursday
Taken in natural light without bounces.
Cantaloupe, Greek yogurt (you can make it by letting regular yogurt drain overnight in the fridge) and blueberries. It was both delicious and filling.

E+7 - Croque Madame
I did not want to make yet another kind of Benedict today so I settled on my version of croque madame.
Sourdough bread (my fav) with a sharp cheddar cheese, topped with grilled ham- which really works well against the dressing on the salad. Grilling the ham gives it more flavor. Instead of frying the sandwich, I grilled it. I did not take a lot photos 'cause I could smell it.

Some Thoughts
I am officially done with the initial project. I don't know where I am headed-but I will continue to take photos (and capture images.) Until I can decide where I am going with this I will try and post from time to time as I get a hankering. No pressure. No rules.
