Sunday Wedding

Such a fun loving family and friends.  You would be hard press to find two people more in love.

The family and witnesses.

Lunch Today

Had some rotisserie chicken in the 'fridge and decided to make some soup yesterday starting with the making of the stock from the carcass.  Ran home for lunch today and had this.  Delicious!!!

The bowl had "SOUP" written on it, so I don't forget.

Sunday Flight

Well folks, they gave me a second chance after begging off yesterday!  Had a really rough week at work and I was exhausted.  I did not even go outside. The flight today lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes, covered 5.6 miles-as the crow flies.  Our mileage, on the ground, most definitely did vary.

I got so engrossed in conversations with Bob that I did not take pictures of Miss Vi's wonderful repast.  But then, I seem to really like food porn.

This is a two frame panorama taken handheld with my Canon 1V HS.

Addendum: The balloons are great, but I need to remember that this is about the people and how ballooning seems to bring us all together.

Oxymoron?

[35mm Film Scan Kodak Gold ISO 200]
I got such a kick out this frame.  The drought has made it illegal to sell or use fireworks in large swaths of Texas, so finding a stand with a firetruck next to it seemed appropriate.  The firetruck is for sale-I want one.

Huevos Motuleños

Huevos Motuleños
Today's breakfast.-Huevos Motuleños.  A dish found on the eastern seaboard of Mexico (Yucatán, Quintana Roo, Oaxaca)  and in the Caribbean.   Fried eggs mounted on black beans on a fried tortilla.  (Some refry the beans first.) We add some ham (or other meat) and peas.  It is covered with salsa.  This salsa is home made with roasted  jalapeño and tomatoes from MS Glenda's back yard and polished off with a chipotle pepper.  I actually found this one very interesting!!

July 5

Today, I started my day but getting my Starbucks here and heading to Chappell Hill Cafe for breakfast. A western omelet with real veggies and meat.  Home made hash browns.  Very wholesome.  People were friendly.

While I had no set plan or route in mind, I wanted to find this church again. We kind of ran into it while chasing Chameleon With the gang.

I think it would be so great to find out about this church's history.  The 5 Ws, Who, what, why, when, where and how!  The land is posted so I could not go onto the property-but I will find out.

Drove around without playing music. Aimlessly following roads until I saw a sign that I wanted to follow. Wound up in Round Top-Royer's place was closed.  Bud has a plan to help us get pies and cakes to our soldiers.

Huevos Divorciados

Medium brown eggs (organic, free range), roasted everything for the red sauce so it does have an intense flavor.  The cheese is a habanero cheese and has a great taste.

Gary Moore

Tried to find my way downtown yesterday morning to no avail.  I am like brain dead when it comes to downtown Houston.  I was a little under the weather so Dale's text message asking if I was down there literally woke me up.  Figured I'd try a drive-by on the way to breakfast.   Gary Moore and his team were out there in 1,000 degree heat.  This is my first special shape.

The Po-Po had all of the streets I tried blocked off due the Houston's  July 4th, "Freedom Over Texas" Festival.  Though, truth be told, some were very helpful.

This is what I saw when I parked the car on a turnout on Memorial Drive across from the Houston Police Officer's Memorial.  A lone police car, standing vigil for fallen comrades.  I am going to go back and visit this soon.

My Hosts.  I really wish I would have been able to get there earlier or better yet-yesterday. I would have loved to take more photos.  They just kept cracking me up.  Balloonists are just such cool people.

Finally, on the way home, after telling them how I don't drink, I got a 6-pack of this.  Not too bad.  Now calculating how many calories I can save by binging on this.  (Joking).

[35mm Film Scan FujiColor 200 ISO]
Note, I used FujiColor ISO 200 instead of the 400 I like best.  I also used no filters on the Canon IV HS film camera.  I should have done that too.  Oh if only I'd gotten there earlier....

Dinner

Veggie kabob on a bed of rice pilaf with almond slivers.  Roasted garlic, and avocado with lemon juice and organic EVOO.  Is this healthy or what?
