It is so serene when one looks over the campus at night.

120 - My Sun Keyboard
I am amazed at how changing your POV can make the mundane interesting. I've banged on this keyboard for years now...

119 - New Neighbors
Bella and her babies are gone so now it's MS Grey's turn. She's a little to skinny to move right now so I guess I am going to have to fatten her up too.

118 - La Luna
This morning we had a partial lunar eclipse. Because it was so low on the horizon, I had to shoot from the street in front of my home and unfortunately what makes my cul de sac safe is what make taking pictures a challenge. The light pollution from the street lights prevented me from taking the images I wanted. I did catch a star at the upper right.
This one I took a long time ago with a 300mm lens (which focuses to 450 on a standard 35mm camera.)
Another lunar eclipse viewable from North America is coming December 21, 2010 according to NASA .

Tom is that an orb? "Is there anyone here who wants to communicate with us?" To make it even look more Ghost Hunters with a little IR sheen...

113 - Textures
Playing with the macro setting on my Point and Shoot. Tom helped me figure out how to turn on the macro function after I asked, "What macro function?" Took a total of 5 images, threw out 2 because they were blurry. Took two of the wooden picnic table, one of the rocks. I am going to have to work on the rocks, what we don't see well is all the water splashing.

112 - I Miss Paul Newman
If you don't know what "Cat on the Hot Tin Roof" is about-having never read or watched it... (1) Shhhh, don't tell anyone least they think you a member of the illiterati. (2) Run, don't walk to your bookstore or library and get the book or the movie. Newman's role as Brick in this movie, and as Rocky Graziano in "Somebody Up There Likes Me" got his long career started-not to mention an Academy Award nomination. I appreciate this movie a whole lot more today than when I first saw it in my 20s.

111 - Metal Sculptures
I was not feeling well today so I did crew. In the afternoon I went to Garden Ridge looking for some balloon metal wall sculptures for the dining room. MS. Glenda has done that to hers. I found this wolf sculpture. Thinking of buying it, painting it a flat black and placing it upstairs in the media room?

110th Day - Still Working on This Image
Back to water again. This is yet another water feature at work. Still trying to figure out how to shoot this one. I think I am going to have to try this with a Polaroid filter.

108 - Wednesday's Dinner
Today's dinner was a caprese salad and pizza. The salad had fresh tomato and mozzarella, green onions, garlic, EVOO and a great balsamic from Modena, Italy on a bed of romaine lettuce-covered with a chiffonade of basil. The pizza was quattro formaggi covered with diced tomatoes. Added basil after baking. Downed with a glass of ice cold Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.
What you don't see is all the junk on the table. It seems I hate seeing naked flat space. Image taken in natural light, no bounce, pushed +1. Eaten watching Iconoclast on Sundance.

107 - A New Balloon
Took my normal route to work today looking forward to my first stop at Starbucks. About half way, I saw a balloon flying overhead so I made a small detour. I did not know this balloon so I sent a picture to Captain (now also Professor) Dale's wife, Laura. She too could not identify it. So we figure this beauty was from out of town. Maybe they will come visit the Lone Start Hot Air Balloon Association's get together tomorrow. As long as I was taking images, I took the liberty of taking a short video as well.
Update: Laura has done a little more research and it seems this may belong to Rowdy Smith of McKinney, and that he has very much earned his name. "Everyone has a story about him." Gonna have to meet him.
I took this with my FujiFilm point and shoot.

106 - Fried Red Tomatoes
This was part of my dinner tonight. Taken in the late afternoon, natural light.
Red Tomatoes sliced and dredged in panko and fried in unsalted buttah, topped with prosciutto, sour cream and fresh chives. Salt and pepper to taste. I loved this. Will make cracklings of the prosciutto next time.

105 - Sunday Dinner
In Friday's post, I talked about Crystal, Tom and I going to lunch. I had a béarnaise burger and I loved it. I made burgers today. I asked the butcher to help me select the meat I should use that would yield a tasty burger without having to put a lot of condiments on it. He recommended an 80/20 mix.
The burgers were made with scallions, onions, parsley, ground black pepper and an egg. I added organic spring mix and sliced tomatoes on top. I made sweet potato fries (oven baked.) For condiments I had a catsup and a home made béarnaise. I topped everything with an ice cold Carta Blanca. Patty taught me to chill it to perfection-when you pop the top a swirl of ice forms in the center.

104 - Follow the Yellow Brick Road
Today we did not fly due to winds and low cloud ceiling. I decided to go take a drive.
When I am up in Chappell Hill or Brenham area, you can bet with confidence that I will visit Blue Bell Ice Cream and Antique Rose Emporium. This is the Yellow Brick Road at the Emporium. I have walked by without noticing it many times. I did not miss it this time.

103 - Lunch at City Center
Tom and I went to lunch with Crystal. We've really missed her. Had a béarnaise burger that was to die for. Looking forward to the pix Tom took of Crystal and I. With a little photoshop on me-who knows...

102 - Cooking Again
I did not want to cook when the A/C was out. Today I made tacos. Home made white corn tortillas, 98% fat free organic beef, onions, jalapenos, radishes, cilantro, garlic and Monterey Jack cheese.

101 - My Babies Playing
Mostly family and friends who come over hang in the kitchen-specially since I like to cook for them. But if you sit on this sofa, notice where Baby Girl's butt is. The room is still dark which cranked up the phone's ISO. Can't wait for the new iPhone, 5MP.

99 - A Hot Monday
We hunkered down in the living room this weekend so the fans could keep us alive. I've always keep the babies' kennel near me. I was scared to leave the babies alone. Tyler seemed to like the heat and really enjoyed being upstairs. So I have 3 fans going, one on the babies and it was barely bearable. I turned almost everything else off.
Early this Monday morning I went and got a new thermostat hoping I could get things working and not have to endure a 3rd night without A/C. No such luck. They came in the afternoon.

98- The A/C Goes Out
I posted early on Saturday but in the afternoon the A/C went out. The Thermostat was blank-powered down. I called the home warranty folks. The house got warm so I went off to get some fans...

97 - Bovine Scatalogy
Seems like I've allowed way too much of this to permeate my life lately. Beware, I am changing that.
In the meantime, here's what we did this morning. It was foggy today with a low ceiling. Chameleon looks a lot lower than it really is. Dale is a very careful and superb pilot.

96 - I Just Don't Get It!!
So... I come downstairs in the building I work in and find a small wet spot has had a bunch of paper towels thrown on top of it and a caution sign placed near it. Kudos on the caution sign but why not get a mop?
I wound up cleaning this all up. Besides being unsightly and unprofessional I felt it was unhealthy as well. 10 seconds with a mop... So I got down and wiped. Another couple of minutes and it should be dry.

95 - Belated Memorial
I was too exhausted from the balloon chases this weekend and forgot about the memorial service at Bear Creek at the War Memorial. To all our fallen soldiers and sailers who have paid the ultimate price I wish the mercy of our Lord.
