I like that only your name appears on the mail slots. What really strikes me when I see this is the emptiness and loneliness that exists even when surrounded by many things. I would say empty people but that would be too cynical. Perhaps as we are so caught up in trying to eek out our existence that others seem to diminish and fade away. How can we empathize with others when we hurt so much inside? I find at times that losing oneself in service to others (and I would say deserving others) that we take the focus off our difficulties and are blessed with a bit of healing. Our burdens seem less as we see others overcome.
